Vacation rentals are a family affair for us. We spent years working for our parents’ vacation rental company. When the company was sold in 2008, we continued the tradition of entrepreneurship and started our own management firm.

Starting a business in the economic climate of 2008 was no easy feat. We mowed lawns, took reservations, cleaned hot tubs, and plowed driveways. It was a labor of love, and we built it from the ground up and often having to think outside of the box to create revenue streams.

Working together, we grew our company, and it became the largest in the Deep Creek Lake, Maryland area. More than 500 vacation rental homeowners trusted our team with management, and property services were provided for more than 140 non-renting homes. In 2014, a real estate division was added.

After selling the company in 2021, it was only natural for us to stay in the vacation rental space. This new phase includes owning our own short-term rentals and developing purpose-built vacation destinations.

Taylor Refosco Consulting formed from our passion for sharing what we have learned throughout the years. By working collaboratively with our clients, we can provide insights and solutions that lead to success.

Chad Taylor is a visionary vacation rental industry leader with a passion for technology and innovation. Throughout his career, he has managed marketing and accounting teams while increasing operation efficiency using the latest software. In addition to running a successful vacation rental firm, Chad also owns Silicon Travel. They are the leading provider for wireless Internet / VOIP phone service and support in resorts and vacation rental homes.

Throughout his twenty-five-year career, Chad has been actively involved in the Vacation Rental Management Association and served on the advisory board for Expedia/HomeAway.

In his free time, Chad can be found on the golf course or cheering on his kids at their sporting events.

With a twenty-six-year background in the vacation rental industry, Jodi Taylor Refosco has experience in every facet of the business. Her role as a company owner included leading the guest services and owner relation teams as well as overseeing marketing. Jodi specialized in owner acquisition and revenue management, becoming well-known as an industry expert on these topics.

Throughout her career, Jodi has been actively involved with VRMA serving on the board as President and Secretary. Her commitment to the association and the industry is evident through her work as chair of the Education and Membership Committees, and participation as a presenter. As a VRMA member, she has a reputation as a thought-leader who endeavors to elevate vacation rental professionals.

When she is not busy with her new business pursuits, you can find her traveling with family and friends or enjoying the outdoors near her home at Deep Creek Lake.

Joe Refosco is a seasoned vacation rental and hospitality professional. As the owner of a successful rental company, Joe’s varied experience on the operations side included the planning and management of a commercial laundry facility and development of processes and procedures for housekeeping, maintenance, and hot tub/pool service. His operations blueprint has become the standard for many companies across the country.

Joe served as President of the Vacation Rental Housekeeping Professionals for several years. He worked with peers to provide education and networking opportunities for the organization's membership. Joe is also a frequent presenter at VRMA conferences.

Joe is an avid sports fan. He enjoys traveling to games with his family at nearby West Virginia University and in Pittsburgh.
